Agenda & Events

The Agenda is where you publish the events your business takes part in: markets, fairs, in-store days, workshops, or anything with a date and a place. You add each event once under Content → Agenda, and your website shows it automatically wherever your theme has an agenda, always with the next dates first and past dates dropped off on their own.

This means your "where to find us" list stays current without you touching your website, and each event can also carry proper event information for search engines, which helps people discover your markets and fairs on Google.

Adding an event​

Click Add event and fill in the details:

  • Title (required). The name of the event, for example "Spring Market Utrecht".
  • Description (optional). A short line about the event.
  • Start date (required) and, if it runs over several days, an end date.
  • Start time and end time (optional). Leave them empty for an all-day event.
  • Location. Either pick one of your saved locations, or choose Enter manually and type a free-text place such as "Market square, Utrecht". Use manual entry for one-off places you do not want to save.
  • Link (optional). A link to more information, for example the market's own page or a ticket page.
  • Image (optional). An image for the event. It is stored in your media library, so you can reuse it later.

Save, and the event appears in your agenda list and on your website (once its date is in the future).

Repeating events​

Many events happen on a regular rhythm, like a weekly market. Instead of adding each date by hand, set the Repeat option on the event:

  • Daily, weekly or monthly. Choose how often it repeats.
  • Until a date. The series runs up to the end date you set. An open-ended series is still shown for a sensible period ahead, so your agenda never runs empty and never runs away.
  • Exclusions. Add specific dates to skip, for example a public holiday when the market does not take place. The series then shows every occurrence except the ones you excluded.

A repeating event is managed as a single entry, so you edit the rhythm in one place rather than maintaining dozens of separate dates.

Upcoming and past events​

The agenda list has a filter to switch between Upcoming and Past events, so you can review what is coming up or look back at what already happened.

On your website, only upcoming events are shown by default, newest date first, and each event drops off automatically once its date has passed. You never have to prune old dates by hand. Depending on your theme, past events can also be shown in a separate section.

Translations​

If your website runs in more than one language, you can translate an event's title and description so visitors read them in their own language. Set the translation for the event and the correct version shows automatically based on the page language. Dates and times are formatted for each language for you.

Where do my events show up on my website?​

Wherever your active theme places the agenda, commonly on the homepage or a dedicated agenda section. If you do not see an agenda on your site, your current theme may not include one; check its design or contact your theme provider.

Do I have to remove events after they happen?​

No. Past events drop off your public agenda automatically once their date has passed. They stay visible to you under the Past filter so you keep a record.

How do I set up a weekly market?​

Add the event once, set Repeat to weekly, and give it an end date (or leave it open for it to keep showing ahead). Add any dates you want to skip as exclusions, for example holidays.

Yes. When adding an event, pick one of your saved locations instead of typing a place. This keeps the address consistent with the rest of your site. For a one-off spot, choose Enter manually and type it in.

Will my events appear correctly in Google?​

Each event carries structured event information (its name, date and place) that search engines understand, which can help your markets and fairs surface in search results. You do not have to set anything up for this; it is included automatically.
