USPs (Unique Selling Points)
Your USPs are the short promises that reassure a visitor and nudge them to buy: "Free shipping from €50", "Ordered before 22:00, shipped today", "30 days to change your mind". Instead of typing these in several places, you keep one central list under Design → USPs, and your website reuses it everywhere it shows selling points, such as the topbar and the spots your theme provides.
Set them once, and they stay consistent across your whole site. Change one, and it updates everywhere at the same time.
Adding a USP
Click Add USP and fill in a few fields:
- Title (required). The promise itself, kept short, for example "Fast delivery".
- Text (optional). A short supporting line under the title, for example "Ordered before 22:00, shipped the same day". Leave it empty if the title says enough.
- Icon (optional). Pick an icon from the grid (a truck, a shield, a clock, and so on). A small icon makes each USP easier to scan. Some spots on your site show the icon, others just the text, depending on your theme.
Save, and the USP joins your list.
Reordering and hiding
- Order. The list order is the order your USPs appear on the site. Where a spot only has room for a few (the topbar, for instance, shows one to three), it takes them from the top of your list, so put your strongest promise first.
- Visible switch. Every USP has a Visible toggle. Turn it off to temporarily hide a promise without deleting it, then turn it back on whenever you want. Hidden USPs never appear on your website.
The free-shipping USP that stays in sync
Free shipping is special because the threshold is already stored in your store settings. Rather than typing the amount by hand (and risking it going out of date), you can let SitePack fill it in for you.
When you turn on the free-shipping option for a USP, write the placeholder {shipping_threshold} in the title or text where the amount should go, for example:
Free shipping from
{shipping_threshold}
On your website this becomes your real threshold, for example "Free shipping from €50". Two things then happen automatically:
- If you change your free-shipping threshold in your store settings, this USP updates with it.
- If you switch free shipping off entirely, the USP hides itself, so you never promise something that is no longer true.
This keeps a single source of truth for the amount and removes a common cause of outdated promises.
Translations
If your website is available in more than one language, you can translate each USP's title and text so visitors see them in their own language. Enter the translations for a USP the same way you manage other translated content, and the right version shows automatically based on the page language.
Where your USPs appear
USPs are global: the same list is available everywhere on your site. Exactly which spots show them depends on your theme, but common places are the topbar, the homepage, and product pages. Because it is one list, an update reaches all of those at once. Where a spot shows only a few, they come from the top of your list, so the order matters.
Frequently asked questions
How many USPs should I add?
Add as many as are genuinely true and useful, but lead with your best. Spots with limited room show only the first few, so the order matters more than the total number.
Do I have to add an icon?
No. The icon is optional. A USP with just a title and text works fine, and some parts of your theme show only the text anyway.
How do I stop showing a USP without losing it?
Turn its Visible switch off. It stays in your list and keeps its text and icon, but no longer appears on the website. Turn it back on to show it again.
Why does my free-shipping USP show no amount, or nothing at all?
Make sure you turned on the free-shipping option for that USP and used the {shipping_threshold} placeholder in the text. If free shipping is switched off in your store settings, the USP hides itself on purpose.
Can different pages show different USPs?
USPs are one global list shared across your site, so the set is the same everywhere. You control the order (which decides what shows first in smaller spots) and which ones are visible, but not a different list per page.
