Connect an AI assistant
SitePack works with AI assistants through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Connect your site once and an assistant can help with everyday work on it: pages and their content, menus, the media library, products, categories, tags and translations, always on the one site you approve, with the permissions you approve.
Pick the tool you use:
- Claude desktop app — the simplest setup: add the connector and approve in the browser.
- ChatGPT — add SitePack as a custom connector.
- Cursor — the AI code editor, connected from its MCP settings.
- VS Code (Copilot) — used from Copilot's agent mode.
- Claude Code (CLI) — the Claude terminal tool.
- OpenAI Codex CLI — for developers working in the terminal.
- Other MCP tools — any assistant that supports MCP.

Every route uses the same connector and the same rules: one site per connection, only the permissions you approve, and you can disconnect at any time. Nothing that spends money is ever requested.
How you sign in
The recommended way to connect is browser sign-in (OAuth): the tool opens a SitePack sign-in and a permission screen in your browser, you pick your site and approve, and the tool remembers it afterwards. Every page above uses this route.
Tools that cannot open a browser (a server or a CI pipeline) can use a personal access token instead, tied to the same one site and the same permissions. See Codex CLI and Other MCP tools for that route.
What you approve
The permission screen names the site and lists what the connector may do. The connector asks only for what it needs to help with content and your catalog:
- Pages — read, create and update pages and their content, SEO fields and status.
- Navigation menus — read and change menu items and their translated labels.
- Media library — search media and update details such as alt text.
- Products and categories — read and update products, prices, stock, categories, options and variants.
- Tags and USPs — list, create and update blog tags and USPs.
- Translations — read what still needs translating and fill in translations per language.
- Footer — read and update the site footer.
It is bound to the one site you pick, so connecting one site gives no access to any other site in your account. It never requests anything that places orders, spends money or changes billing. You can deny on the permission screen, and disconnect at any time.
