General Settings

The Settings section is the administrative backbone of your website. While Content Management is where you build what visitors see, Settings is where you configure the foundational details behind the scenes: your site's identity, your domain, your professional email, your subscription, and who else has access to help manage everything.

This overview page covers Website Identity and Visibility & Tools (the settings you land on first when you open this section) and then links out to every other settings area in detail.

Website Identity​

These are the basic details that represent your website both across the web and inside the SitePack Admin Portal itself.

  • Site Name & Description: Used throughout the Admin Portal to identify your site, and also serves as the default fallback text search engines use to describe your site when no more specific page-level SEO information is available (see Redirects & SEO).
  • Locale: Sets the default language for your website's interface elements and any automatic system emails sent on your behalf (such as order confirmations).
  • Logo & Site Icon: Upload your logo (recommended size 360 × 80 pixels) and your site icon (also known as a favicon), the small icon shown in browser tabs and bookmarks (recommended size 96 × 96 pixels). Accepted formats are WebP, JPG, and PNG.

Tip: A crisp, correctly sized logo makes a noticeable difference to how professional your site feels. If your logo file looks stretched or blurry after uploading, try re-exporting it closer to the recommended dimensions.

Visibility & Tools​

These settings control how (and whether) the outside world can see and interact with your site.

  • Block Search Engines: Prevents search engines like Google from indexing (listing) your website in their results. This is particularly useful while your site is still under construction, so half-finished pages don't show up in someone's search results before you are ready to launch.
  • Cookie Bar: Toggles the GDPR-compliant cookie consent banner shown to visitors from the European Union. GDPR is European privacy law requiring websites to ask visitors for consent before using certain tracking cookies. SitePack's built-in cookie bar handles this requirement for you.
  • Coming Soon Page: Displays a simple "coming soon" placeholder page to the public while you continue building the rest of your site privately behind the scenes. Visitors see a polished holding page instead of unfinished content.

  • Locations: Manage your business address(es), phone numbers, and opening hours in one place. Linked Contact Details and Opening Hours elements across your site update automatically.
  • Social Media: Link your social profiles (Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, and TikTok) to your site's footer and contact sections.
  • Domain Management: Register, connect, and manage the domain names (web addresses) associated with your website.
  • Professional Email: Set up email mailboxes that use your own domain name, such as info@yourdomain.com.
  • Subscription & Billing: Manage your SitePack plan, payment method, and the billing details used on your invoices.
  • Invoices: View and download every invoice SitePack has issued to your account.
  • Team & Access: Invite colleagues or clients to help manage your site, without sharing your own login credentials.
  • Custom HTML: An advanced, optional tool for inserting your own tracking scripts or code snippets into your site's <head> or <body>.
  • Translations: Add extra languages to your website, choose how translated pages are served, and optionally connect a machine-translation provider.

Frequently asked questions​

What is the difference between "Block Search Engines" and the "Coming Soon Page"?​

Block Search Engines only asks search engines not to list your pages. The site itself is still publicly reachable if someone has the direct link. The Coming Soon Page goes further by replacing your actual site with a simple holding page for all visitors, hiding your unfinished work from anyone who stumbles across the link.

No. SitePack includes a built-in, GDPR-compliant Cookie Bar that you can simply toggle on in Settings. There is no need to add third-party code for basic cookie consent.

What image formats can I use for my logo and site icon?​

WebP, JPG, and PNG are all supported. We recommend uploading your logo close to 360 × 80 pixels and your site icon close to 96 × 96 pixels for the sharpest results.
