Domain Management

Your domain is your website's address on the internet — the words visitors type into their browser, such as yourbusiness.com, to find you. Just as a business needs a memorable street address, a website needs a domain that is easy to recall and reflects your brand. SitePack makes registering, connecting, and managing domains straightforward, entirely from within the Admin Portal.

Registering a new domain​

  1. Navigate to Settings → Domains in your Admin Portal.
  2. Click Register Domain.
  3. Search for the domain name and extension you want — for example, .com, .nl, or .eu. SitePack will tell you immediately whether it is available.
  4. Once registered, the domain is automatically configured to work with your SitePack website — there is no separate technical setup required on your end.

Setting a primary domain​

If your website has more than one domain connected to it, you need to designate one as your Primary Domain — the main address that visitors will see in their browser's address bar. All other domains attached to your account automatically redirect to this primary one, so no matter which address someone types in, they always land on the same, consistent website.

Domain health & security​

Keeping an eye on a few simple indicators ensures your domain (and everything connected to it, like your website and email) keeps working without interruption:

  • Status Indicators: Check the "Status" column on the Domains page to confirm your domain is active and properly connected to your website.
  • Auto-Renewal: Domain registrations need to be renewed periodically (usually once a year) to avoid expiring. We strongly recommend keeping auto-renewal enabled — an expired domain can mean your website and email addresses suddenly stop working.
  • SSL Certificates: SitePack automatically issues and renews SSL certificates for every domain you connect. An SSL certificate encrypts the connection between your website and its visitors, which is what enables the padlock icon and "https://" prefix in the browser address bar — a basic requirement for visitor trust and for good search engine rankings.

Frequently asked questions​

What happens if I don't renew my domain?​

If a domain expires, your website and any email addresses using that domain will stop working. Keeping Auto-Renewal enabled is the simplest way to avoid this happening by accident.

Can I connect a domain I already own from another provider?​

What is a "Primary Domain" and do I need one?​

Yes, if you have more than one domain. The Primary Domain is the main address shown to visitors; any additional domains you own will automatically redirect to it, ensuring a consistent experience no matter which address someone uses.

Do I need to set up my own SSL certificate?​

No. SitePack automatically issues and renews SSL certificates for every connected domain, so your site is always served securely over HTTPS without any action needed from you.

How do I check if my domain is working correctly?​

Look at the Status column on the Settings → Domains page. If it does not show as active, review the DNS Management guide or reach out through the Admin Portal's Resources menu for support.
