Online Store

If your website has the Online Store feature enabled, you can run your entire e-commerce business — from listing products to shipping orders — directly through the same Admin Portal you use to manage the rest of your site. There is no separate platform to learn and no technical setup required to start selling.

Core store management areas

Running a store touches three main areas, each covered in its own detailed guide:

  • Orders: Track incoming purchases, verify payment, and move each order through to fulfillment and shipping.
  • Product Catalog: Create and organize the products you sell, including categories, variants (like size or color), and bundles.
  • Store Settings: Configure the underlying mechanics of your store — payments, shipping, currency, tax, and the automated emails sent to customers.

Quick start guide

If you are setting up your store for the first time, follow these steps in order — each one builds on the last:

  1. Set up your products. Add your first items in the Product Catalog, with clear titles, honest descriptions, and high-quality photos. Good product photos and descriptions are one of the biggest factors in whether visitors trust your store enough to buy.
  2. Organize with categories. Group related products into categories so customers can browse naturally, rather than scrolling through everything at once.
  3. Configure payments. Connect a payment provider, such as Mollie, in Store Settings so you can actually accept and receive money from orders.
  4. Define shipping. Decide which countries you deliver to and what you charge, also configured in Store Settings.
  5. Test your checkout. Before announcing your store to the world, place a full test order yourself — from browsing a product through to completing checkout — to confirm every step works exactly as expected.

Only after completing these steps should you promote your store publicly. A smooth first impression matters far more for a new online shop than launching a day earlier.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a separate account or platform to sell online?

No. If your plan includes the Online Store feature, everything — products, orders, and settings — is managed from the same SitePack Admin Portal you already use for your website content.

What should I set up first when starting a new store?

Start with your Product Catalog — add at least a few products with good photos and descriptions before worrying about categories, payments, or shipping.

How do I actually get paid for orders?

You need to connect a payment provider under Store Settings — SitePack supports leading payment service providers such as Mollie and PayNL, which handle securely processing customer payments.

Should I test my store before launching it?

Yes, always. Place a full test order yourself, from browsing to checkout, to confirm your products, payments, and shipping are all configured correctly before inviting real customers.

What happens to orders once a customer completes checkout?

They appear in your Orders section, where you can track payment status and move each order through your fulfillment process step by step.
