Domain Management Overview

Your domain name is your unique address on the web — the words someone types into a browser to find your business, such as yourbusiness.com. Just as a shop needs a clear street address, a website needs a domain that's easy to remember and reflects your brand. SitePack makes registering and managing your domain simple, handling nearly every technical detail automatically so you can focus on your business instead of internet infrastructure.

Registering a domain

To register a new domain, log in to the SitePack Admin and navigate to Settings → Domains. From there, search for the name and extension (like .com or .nl) you want, and register it in just a few clicks.

Your free initial domain

As a SitePack user, you are entitled to one free domain registration. This offer applies to most European country-level domains, including:

  • .nl (Netherlands)
  • .be (Belgium)
  • .de (Germany)
  • .eu (European Union)
  • .fr (France)
  • .it (Italy)
  • .es (Spain)
  • .at (Austria)
  • .pl (Poland)
  • .dk (Denmark)
  • .se (Sweden)

Registering additional domains

If you want more than one domain — for example, to also secure a common misspelling of your business name, or a domain with a different extension — SitePack offers very competitive pricing on additional registrations. You can find current rates and register extra domains directly from the same Settings → Domains page in your Admin Portal.

Primary domain & redirection

When you register your first domain, SitePack automatically sets it as your Primary Domain — the main address that visitors see in their browser when they land on your site.

  • Automatic redirection: Any additional domains you register are automatically configured to redirect to your Primary Domain. This means that even if a visitor types in a secondary domain, they always end up on the same consistent website, protecting your brand experience.
  • Switching primary domains: Your choice isn't permanent. You can change which domain is treated as "Primary" at any time from the Settings → Domains page in the Admin Portal.

Domain management policy

To guarantee the best possible performance and security for your website and email, SitePack requires all custom domains to be managed within our platform. This is a deliberate choice, not a limitation, and it comes with real benefits:

  • Full ownership, always. You, the customer, are and always remain the legal owner of your domain. While SitePack manages the technical administration and DNS on your behalf, ownership rights belong entirely to you.
  • No external providers. SitePack does not support connecting domains that are registered or managed with an outside provider. All domains used with your SitePack site must be registered through SitePack itself.
  • Full control, one place. To use a custom domain with SitePack, it must be registered with us, and its DNS (explained in the DNS Management guide) must be managed through the SitePack Admin.
  • Seamless integration. Keeping everything in one platform is what allows SitePack to automatically configure your website and email settings correctly, every time, without any manual technical work on your part.

Automated setup

SitePack removes the technical hassle typically involved in owning a domain. The moment you register a domain through SitePack, the following are configured automatically, with no action needed from you:

  • DNS Records: All the necessary records that connect your domain to your website and mail servers are set up correctly from day one.
  • SSL Certificates: SitePack automatically issues and renews SSL certificates for your domain, keeping your website secure with HTTPS (the padlock icon visitors see in their browser).
  • Email Security: Essential records for reliable email delivery, such as DKIM and SPF (explained in detail in DNS Management), are created on your behalf to protect your domain's reputation and keep your emails out of spam folders.
Automatic Configuration

You don't need to manually edit any DNS records for these services — SitePack handles it all behind the scenes, from the moment you register.

Frequently asked questions

Do I get a free domain with SitePack?

Yes. Every SitePack user is entitled to one free domain registration, covering most European country-level extensions such as .nl, .be, .de, .eu, .fr, .it, .es, .at, .pl, .dk, and .se.

Can I use a domain I already registered somewhere else?

No. To ensure everything works correctly and securely, SitePack requires all domains used with your website to be registered and managed directly within the SitePack platform — external providers are not supported.

Do I actually own my domain, even though SitePack manages it?

Yes. You remain the full legal owner of your domain at all times. SitePack manages the technical administration (DNS, SSL, and mail security records) on your behalf, but ownership rights never transfer to SitePack.

What is a "Primary Domain" and can I change it later?

Your Primary Domain is the main web address visitors see when they visit your site; any other domains you own automatically redirect to it. You can change which domain is set as Primary at any time from Settings → Domains.

Do I need to set up SSL certificates myself?

No. SitePack automatically issues and renews SSL certificates for every domain registered with us, keeping your site securely served over HTTPS without any manual steps.

What if I want more than one domain?

You can register additional domains at competitive rates directly from Settings → Domains. Each additional domain will automatically redirect to your Primary Domain unless you choose to change your primary domain setting.
