Creating and Deploying a New Site

From your Partner Dashboard you can provision a complete, ready-to-use website or online store for a client in a single step. You don't need the client to be involved in the technical setup: you fill in a short form, and SitePack builds and deploys the site for you, then notifies the account owner by email.

Starting the Add site flow

Open the Sites section of your Partner Dashboard and click the Add site button. This opens the Add site form, where you describe the site you want to create and who it belongs to.

Filling in the site details

The Add site form asks for a small set of details:

  • Site name: The name of the website or store. This is used to identify the site in your dashboard and as the starting point for the site's own branding.
  • Short description: A brief description of what the site is about. It gives the new site some initial context and can be refined later from the site admin.
  • Site type: Choose whether you are creating a Website or an Online store. The site type determines what SitePack builds for you (see What gets built automatically below).
  • Locale: The primary language of the site. This sets the default language for the site's content and admin.

Setting the account owner

Every site needs an owner: the person who will ultimately manage the website. You provide the account owner's details on the same form:

  • First name and Last name of the account owner.
  • Email address of the account owner.

SitePack uses this email to create or link the owner's account and to send them a notification once the site is ready.

What gets built automatically

When you submit the form, SitePack doesn't just create an empty site: it deploys a working starting point so the client has something real to build on from day one. Every new site is created with:

  • A homepage containing a title and an introductory paragraph.
  • A navigation so visitors can move around the site.
  • A contact form page, ready to receive enquiries.

If you chose Online store as the site type, the store is additionally seeded with:

  • A demo category to show how products are organised.
  • A demo product that includes variant options, so the client can immediately see how a product with variants looks and works.

These starter elements are fully editable. The client (or you, on their behalf) can rename the homepage, replace the demo category and product, and adjust the navigation and contact form at any time from the site admin. See Managing Content for a Customer.

What the account owner receives

Once the site has been built, the account owner is emailed automatically to let them know their new site has been created. For a brand-new user (someone who did not already have a SitePack account), that email also contains their password so they can log in for the first time. If the account owner already had a SitePack account, they simply receive the notification that a new site is now available to them, using their existing credentials.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to set up hosting or a domain before adding a site?

No. Adding a site from your Partner Dashboard provisions and deploys the environment for you. You describe the site on the Add site form and SitePack builds it automatically.

What's the difference between choosing "Website" and "Online store"?

Both site types come with a homepage, a navigation and a contact form page. Choosing Online store additionally seeds the site with a demo category and a demo product that has variant options, so a store is ready to be filled with real products right away.

Does the client need to do anything to get started?

No. After you submit the Add site form, SitePack builds the site and emails the account owner. Brand-new users receive their password in that email so they can log in immediately.

Can I change the starter homepage, navigation and demo products later?

Yes. Everything SitePack creates for a new site is fully editable. You can manage it yourself on the client's behalf, see Managing Content for a Customer, or the account owner can edit it from their own site admin.

What happens if the account owner already has a SitePack account?

The new site is linked to their existing account. They receive an email letting them know the site is available, and they log in with their existing credentials, no new password is sent.
